2. Prepare a list of property, debts, assets, real estate, bills, retirement, pension, stocks, investments. This will probably take some time, but it’s worth it. A form that may help you is a Schedule of Assets and Debts that you can find here: http://courts.ca.gov/documents/fl142.pdf

3. Bring information about your spouse, children, monthly bills, income, .and any premarital agreements.

4. Bring any legal documents, subpoenas, complaints, demand letters – any documentation that is related (or may be related) to your case.

5. Flag any deadlines that you are facing such as court dates, responses, answers to interrogatories, deposition dates, court dates, or any other appointments that Holdt Garver should know about immediately.

6. Be prepared to discuss your budget concerns and financial situation; be sure you understand fee agreements, what costs to expects.

7. And finally, expect to feel confident in your choice of legal representative and if you don’t, then ask for a referral or “shop around” for a lawyer you feel has your best interests at heart, is competent and capable of meeting your expectations.
